Itinerary

Day 1: Marangu Gate (1,870m) – Mandara Hut (2,720m)

Your adventure begins at Marangu Gate, where the rainforest welcomes you with bird calls and moss-draped trees. After registration, a gentle hike leads to Mandara Hut — your first night on the mountain.

Day 2: Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut (3,720m)

The trail ascends through moorland filled with giant lobelias and heather. The air grows crisp as Kilimanjaro’s twin peaks — Mawenzi and Kibo — appear in the distance.

Day 3: Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut (4,700m)

A long but rewarding day across the alpine desert. The landscape turns otherworldly, silent except for the crunch of your boots. You’ll rest at Kibo Hut, preparing for the midnight summit attempt.

Day 4: Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Horombo Hut (3,720m)

Begin your climb under a starlit sky. Step by step, you conquer the final ascent — reaching Uhuru Peak at sunrise. The world stretches endlessly below you. Descend to Horombo Hut for a well-earned rest.

Day 5: Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate (1,870m)
