Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha / Moshi
Arrive and meet your trekking team for a full briefing and equipment check. Rest before your northern adventure begins.
Day 2: Umbwe Gate (1,800 m) – Umbwe Cave Camp (2,850 m)
Begin your adventure in the dense rainforest, following steep trails lined with vines and towering trees. Camp among the whispering jungle at Umbwe Cave.
Day 3: Umbwe Cave – Barranco Camp (3,900 m)
The forest thins into moorland. The path follows sharp ridges with sweeping views across the valley before descending into Barranco Camp beneath the imposing Lava Tower.
Day 4: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp (3,995 m)
Trek up the famous Barranco Wall — a thrilling climb with stunning panoramas. Continue across alpine ridges to Karanga Camp.
Day 5: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp (4,673 m)
A steady ascent across desolate highlands leads to Barafu Camp, your final base before summit night. Rest early under a field of stars.
Day 6: Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) – Mweka Camp (3,100 m)
Summit day begins before dawn. Climb through darkness until the horizon ignites — the sunrise from Uhuru Peak will leave you speechless. Descend to Mweka Camp to recover and celebrate.
Day 7: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate (1,640 m) – Moshi / Arusha
Descend through rainforest, alive with birdsong and mist. Receive your summit certificate before heading back to town for a well-earned rest.
